NSF-TUES Proposal Writing Workshop March 14-17, 2013


We are pleased to call your attention to an upcoming workshop being held at the University of South Florida from March 14-17, 2013. The workshop is designed to help you write a TUES Type 1 proposal for submission in the upcoming round of the TUES program (tentatively May, 2013). Please help us by forwarding this announcement to others who might be interested.  The application deadline is January 28, 2013.

Workshop Dates:  March 14-17, 2013
Location: Campus of the University of South Florida - Tampa

Participants cover their airfare. All other costs are covered through funding from the National Science Foundation.

Tentative Agenda:

Workshop starts: 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14
Workshop ends: 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17
Note: If accepted, do not plan your departure from Tampa any earlier than 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 17th. Free shuttles will be departing from hotel starting at 1:30 p.m.
* All major and some minor airlines serve Tampa with good direct and connecting flights.

Eligibility Requirements:
Open to all geoscience faculty eligible to submit grant proposals to NSF. If unsure, check with your sponsored program office prior to completing an application. Preference will be given to tenured and tenure-track faculty from geosciences/geography departments. Applications may be submitted by individual faculty or teams of faculty. For teams of faculty, costs for only one member can be supported by this project. Note: Additional funding is available for faculty from two-year colleges and minority-serving institutions. Please contact Jill Singer and/or Jeff Ryan directly regarding additional support. IMPORTANT! Participants attending the workshop are expected to submit a Type 1 TUES proposal for the upcoming May 2013 deadline.
Note: Once notified of acceptance, participants will be required to complete:
  • form signed by their department/program chair and sponsored program representative confirming approval to submit a TUES proposal for the May 2013 deadline
  • template that outlines sections of the TUES proposal (this is your initial working draft to be shared with workshop facilitators)
